Sailing Yacht Piezas de Ocho has recently undergone annual maintenance to keep her at her best.
She was lifted out of the water to have her hull cleaned, anti-fouled, and the propeller anode replaced.
When back in the water she had all the teak redone and an all over deep clean to keep her looking her best.
She now looks nearly as good as new and is ready for another season of fun sailing.

As our last fun golf day was a great success, your committee have arranged another.

To ring the changes, this is being held at Golf de Luxe, which is next to the industrial estate on the road to Torre Pacheco, on Wednesday October 28th.

People who do not wish to play can just join us for the lunch, typical cost 12.50 to 13.00 euro.

All members, friends and family are welcome.

The start time will be advised later as it will depend on the number of people playing.

The Spring Racing Season is now complete. The Autumn season will start on Sunday, 13th September for more exciting racing on the Mar Menor.

SAMM (Sailing Association Mar Menor) had a most enjoyable "Bowls Experience" morning. Hosted by Country Bowls Club, members received tuition, had a friendly game followed by a soup and sandwich lunch. Thank you Country Bowls, well done!

The Sailing Association Mar Menor held its very first Whaly Training Day yesterday, and it proved to be an excellent start to this new initiative. The Mar Menor delivered perfect conditions: calm water, clear skies, and just enough breeze to keep things interesting. The Whaly handled beautifully throughout the morning, giving us plenty of opportunity to run through manoeuvres, safety procedures, and general boat handling. Steve settled in quickly and clearly enjoyed the experience — a great sign for future sessions.
With such a successful first outing, we’re already looking forward to the next Whaly Day, scheduled for two weeks from now. Further details will be shared soon.

Another great night at the bowling alley

The Yacht is currently berthed at Los Urrutias on the Mar Menor and is mostly used for day sailing, but being a category B yacht, is more than capable of offshore sailing.
We are offering eighth shares for sale in this elegant Ronautica Yacht.

Balaton Group were presented with a cup for the newly revived Spring Series of races run by SAMM (Sailing Association Mar Menor). Lavanter performed consistently well with various crews and took part in every race which helped them to victory. Jules accepted the cup on behalf of the Lavanter crews from Commodore Jack and race organiser Bob.
